MEDIAPANORAMA
Beeld en Geluid (Sound and Vision) keeps and restores the Dutch collective audiovisual memory of more than a century. The only past era which exists in moving images. It is a source of entertainment and information for professional users, educational purposes and the general public.
On the 1st of December 2006 HM Beatrix, Queen of The Netherlands, opened the Beeld en Geluid Media Experience. For this innovative museum Tungsten Studio created the Mediapanorama, a 42x4 meters wide videoprojection. Tungsten Studio worked with many freelance artists on this unique project to give the audience acces to one of the largest audiovisual archives in the world. The archival storage system is the main character in this ultra widescreen movie which was shot on 35 mm film.
War, fire. rain, fog … nothing is left done to spare the videotapes, celluloid filmreels and audiocassettes.
The Mediapanorama can be seen from Tuesday till Sunday at 11, 14, 17 en 20 hrs.
